12/25 ÷ 24 = n
35/49 ÷ 21/14 = n
56/112 ÷ ¾ = n
13/39 ÷ 7/10 = n
12/17 ÷ 48/51 = n
14/49 ÷ 7/38 = n
[1/7 ÷ 28/56] ÷ 14/10 = n

Write an equation, then solve.

What is three fourths divided by four fifths?
The divisor is 14, the dividend is 21/5, what is the quotient?
How many 9/36 are in 27/4 ?
What is 1 and 2/8 of the quotient of (150 and 12 and 1/2)?
What is 1 less the quotient of 3/5 and 27/25?

Basic Operations

Addition:
addend + addend = sum

Subtraction:

minuend- subtrahend=difference

Multiplication:
factor x factor = product

Division:
dividend ÷ divisor=quotient

Operations with Fractions
Addition/Subtraction of Like Fractions:
Add/Subtract the numerator

Addition/Subtraction of Unlike Fractions:
Change the fraction according to LCD
Add/Subtract like Like Fractions

Multiplication:
Multiply the numerators and multiply the denominators

Division:
Multiply the Dividend by the reciprocal of the Divisor

Operations with Decimals
Addition and Subtraction:
Align the decimal point. Align the places of the digits and add/subtract in the usual manner.
Multiplication:
Multiply like whole numbers. Count the number of decimal places in the factors. This number of decimal places should also be the number of decimal places in your product.
Division:
Move the decimal point of the divisor to the right until it becomes a whole number. The same number of movements should also be done to the dividend. Align the decimal point in the quotient. Divide in the usual manner. Be wary of where the decimal point should be.

Label Properly

Look at the problem. Usually the question in a word problem would include words like objects?

Ex: "how many fingers will he have left if the firecracker blows up in his hand?" The unit is fingers.

If it is a perimeter problem, or if it asking for just one dimension or one side of a figure, get the unit in the word problem. That is your proper label.

Ex: What is the perimeter of a square with each side that measures 90 cm? The unit/label is cm.

If it is an area problem, the unit is always square unit, whichever the unit indicated in the problem is. If there is no unit, the unit is "unit." The unit can also be an object that makes up another object, like alphabet blocks or cubes.

If it is a volume problem, the unit is always cubic unit, whichever the unit indicated in the problem is. If there is no unit, the unit is "unit." The unit can also be an object that makes up another object, like alphabet blocks or cubes.
